Painting, for Bennett, is a practice of active observation. This practice fosters a continually deeper awareness, connection, and ultimately gratitude for the world around him. The success of any given painting is its ability to convey a bit of the value he benefited from creating it to the viewer.
Bennett lives in Oakland California with his wife and son, working out of the studio he built under their home, nestled around Coastal Live Oak and Redwoods in the Oakland Hills of California.
